As I spilled, and tried to make humor about it, the woman was not amused. Although seemingly genuine, she said numerous times, "If I had known it would be so cumbersome..." and said the word "cumbersome" over and over in various similar phrases.
Really? Either she was being the victim, or she didn't really know what the word cumbersome meant. For me, it was a bit of a slap to hear that over and over. I was not meaning for her to feel badly, like I thought my spill was because of her. I wasn't acting like I felt that way, yet again echoing "cumbersome". My personality is to feel guilty, and I am even writing about it days later.
I feel like she wanted me to coddle her happily, and for that situation, she got it. I do feel that she should look up the word cumbersome though. It implies burdensome, to which I veto her comment and her insinuation.
