The San Diego Drag Kings are having their monthly event at The Flame in Hillcrest San Diego located at 3780 Park Blvd. This event is special for many reasons. First, this show is an open forum, so any lady who would like to perform is welcome to join the line-up. Just be there at 6:00 p.m. to check-in.
This is also a night to celebrate Smokey's birthday. There is a flip side to all good things besides the celebration of birth, the night is juxtaposed to raise money for the funeral of Smokey and Lucky's step father.
Last month the Kings and Queen entertained the audience with a great Christmas tribute. This month's performance is a celebration of life, death, and an opportunity for new performers to get on the stage, strut and entertain. Sunday January 16 come down to The Flame at 7p.m, pay only $4. to watch a great show, participate in a raffle, and support our San Diego Drag Kings.

- I am a hair stylist in Hillcrest,San Diego. I went to Vidal Sassoon Academy when I was 18, completed my cosmetology hours, took and passed my cosmetology state board test and became licensed in 1997. When I was 25 I took a personal haitus from working in a salon and went to traditional college. I graduated from California State University, Fullerton with BA degree in English. I am a lyrical artist and a writer by nature. I have a love of words and conversation. I would like reading to be interesting, informative and entertaining. My style of writing attempts to fulfill all three of my own criteria. I am using my blog as a type of portfolio for my writing style and to show some of the hair I've done. I have been published in "The Coto De Caza Newspaper", March '09, and it was a great feeling. I have also been spotlighted in the GLT and in Gay San Diego/ Uptown News.
