rock Star: Before and After

Even before the haircut, the haircut shape on Star is really grown out, but still looks good.

Star is a musician who has a passion for the music. Approaching 5’4, this little package is bursting full of exciting, entertaining, conscious, and positive, creativity. She is currently working on her first solo album with various collaborations. With a rotating consistency of contributors, “The Elated Sob Story” aspires to be a diverse sound of different musical instruments and variety.

Star has been into music since she was five years old. She remembers playing the ukulele with her uncle “who was really into Van Halen. He loved Eddie Vedder so much, “he made a guitar that looked just like his.” Star chose the ukulele because at the time she was picking up an instrument to play, she was so little that the ukulele was just her size. She must feel nostalgic about that period of learning because she’s “been playing the ukulele lately.” Besides the ukulele, Star has played the clarinet in a school band, guitar, and other instruments she dabbles in. In her most recent band passed band, she played bass guitar, back-up vocals, and even sang lead in one of the tracks.

Star’s most recent pursuit is to develop an album that is not only about the music, but about the lyrics. She has been collaborating with a variety of individuals with diverse musical talents in order to create an album of music that is raw and entertaining. Star is attracted to many different sounds, which is why she is working on incorporating various sounds into her music. This project is about her passion for music, and her love of being a musician, and making music.

Star feels like she just wants to get her sounds out there, and let people hear it. She doesn’t care if people love it or hate it. “They can leave it under a pillow, and find it months later, and I just hope that they can appreciate it in their own way” she laughs. Music is fun and beautiful because it affects different people differently. Different events in our lives can be associated with movies, smells, and various other associations including music and songs. Star’s impact may be her message through her music. “I have to quote someone,” Star implores, “Music is number one. Lyrics are number two.’ That was Kurt Cobain.” Not only is Nirvana a musical inspiration to Star, but the lead singer has left a bounty of wise words for the musically inclined.

I went onto Star’s website, and listened to her songs available on the page. Please, feel free to visit her page at her my space page at elated sob story with no spaces, and no “the”. One of her songs “Cakes” is about her cat, and the daily shenanigans that he creates, and how people are just jealous that he can lick his own asshole. Her “Beats Pulling Demo” is about a lost demon love. Star had told me that her sound is “lo-fi” and I did not understand what that meant, until I listened. Her sound is raw, and real. Star is adamant about making music, and is determined to express her creative side. Star elaborates, “I don’t want to make music, and because I am not completely satisfied, not put it out there. The sound will not be completely perfect, and sometimes that is a good thing.” Artists are never satisfied anyway, and the old saying “better late than never” is not applicable to a Carpe Diem life which Star demontrates by her existence.

Star’s sound is unique, and I guarantee that after you listen to her tracks a few times, the melodies will be in your head. Enjoy listening; I give Star all the support and am happy to help with anything she needs to fulfill her dream of making and sharing her music. Just copy and paste the location,
